Activists have stormed social media sites to share the news that a controversial documentary about the Rohingyas titled “Hidden Genocide” is to be aired this weekend on Al Jazeera.

In announcing that it was “strongly opposed” to the airing of the broadcast, Burma’s state media inadvertently acted as an advertiser for Phil Rees’ film, which is expected to address the network’s earlier allegations of mass grave sites in Rakhine State where perhaps hundreds of Rohingya bodies were uncovered, including children who were allegedly shot.

According to The New Light of Myanmar, the documentary will air on Al Jazeera from December 8 to 12 in Arabic, and from December 9 to 13 in English.
