The Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) and the Burmese government held peace talks in Taunggyi in Shan State and agreed on nine points, official media reported on Monday.

Central Peace Making Group leader Aung Min represented the government and Khin Myat Tun represented the PNLO.

The talks over the weekend produced an eight-point agreement including setting up liaison offices, coordination on location of PNLO troops, cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs, the media, food supplies, public security and basic agriculture, said the New Light of Myanmar, the state-run newspaper.

The government said that 10 out of 11 ethnic armed groups have reached preliminary peace pacts with the government at state or central level talks since August 2011.
